Checking in.

The contestant is sporting an inward smile today.

There is hope and determination that she will develop the determination to remove chicken and fish from her diet and gravitate more strictly towards a vegetarian diet.

She is sending congratulations to McCoy for his efforts today!

and rooting for Lightseekingyak to be successful in his striving!

Snowangel from your attitude I'd say you enjoyed yesterday's effort.

The spiritual oxygen breathed with this marathon sure is going to help you in cutting that rajasic food.

Checking in. Much easier when the work is relatively mindless than when it requires full attention or gets too busy with too many things to do.

My spiritualizing the work routine definitely needs some tweaking.

Will be ready for checkin once again tomorrow morning, with renewed effort at keeping calm under the pressure of busy, busy, busy.

I'm In

This is just what I need to jumpstart my spiritual life again. Very simple but profoundly deep for me when I practice it. I feel His presence at the spiritual eye, helping me sending waves of peace.

I have been so off track for so long this is certainly going to be high on my list to practice, maybe it'll bring me so much peace I'll be calm enough to meditate again.

I had a harder time than last week's marathon. The kurus strengthened their forces.

Jaiguruji, it goes without saying that the marathon will take place every week now. You are registered for next monday.

The idea is that we start on monday, warm up on sunday, get on a little on tuesday because we enjoyed it and so on until we are naturally running a whole week supermarathon with litel effort.
It's going to take the time it takes who minds.

Lightseeing, I have this gut feeling that next monday the kurus are going to have a bad surprise.

There are days, like today, when the challenge is to just stay in the race, metaphically speaking. But at the end of it, it is nice to be able to say I didn't give in and kept on keeping on. (This applies to both my work and my spiritual practice)

Wondering how the rest of you are doing?

More or less same as you, material work is usually a shoo-in now, I work I see the results, spiritual work is much harder, I work, results are minimal.
Apparently.

This series of marathons is a way to shrug the spiritual stagnancy off.
I sense it's almost working.

It has been very interesting to observe the relationship between the fluctuating level of attentiveness and concentration in meditation as the week progressed and the level of effort in the SEM during the day. I am going to keep up my diary a little more closely.

Checking in again for Monday!

As far as I know there were no such events advertised in that board until a few months ago (that is, until my last click in there).

Where is the proof?

Probably the only event around where everyone winds up a winner, providing he makes at least a few bona fide steps.

Partecipants are kindly requested to register, sorry I forgot to open the register previously. I Take it for granted rajakrisna keeps being the event official doctor.

So far, in order of registration:

1-mccoy
2-nilima

Raja,
how do you explain the burning sensation in the frontal synuses at teh location of the spiritual eye when going thru such a marathon in a strenuos way?

Aneurysm is ruled out since I'm still alive & running.

OK, good news, so that must be the energy brought up to the Ajna by intense concentration effort. When the effort is too strenuos it aches though.

I really missed that Nilima, old age-old age, in the golden yugas I would stay now in a mudhat into a forrest, or in a mountain cave, meditating 24 hours.

If you are up to it you're officially appointed secretary of the SEM organization.

This is the final list of winners of the 3rd SEM, congrats to all:

This is strictly a one day event, although some like to warm-up in advance or continue to run afterwards even with shorter sprints to enjoy the energy released.

A one week stretch would be a SESM, spiritual eye super marathon, which is in the plans.

It makes sense though to work on the shorter distance to avoid burn-up and other problems. This is a must in every training strategy.

Possibly someone deleted a thread and with it go all the posts belonging to that thread.

I am sure you and McCoy will catch up to previous record in no time!

Enrolled for the 4th edition of the SEM:

-mccoy
-lightseeingyak

By the way, for those of you guys who relish this kind of spiritual toys, it really seems that these marathons allow you to see the spiritual eye much better. That's not the primary purpose, it happens anyway. If you survive the marathon of course ah ah ah

I wonder what will happen when we'll start to run the supermarathons, we'll probably be literally persecuted by the vision of the spiritual eye. Life wasn't meant to be easy, eh eh eh!

By the way, please count me in for Monday, too.

Yogananda on the spiritual eye

"Sir, is there a scientific method, apart from Kriya Yoga, that will lead a devotee to God?" a student inquired.

"Yes," the Master said. "A sure and swift way to the Infinite is to keep one's attention at the Christ Consciousness center between the eyebrows."

- Sayings Of Paramahansa Yogananda p. 59

Question - Does he mean all the time, or just during meditation?

Checking in.

This happy little puffy fella reminds me of the "Pillsbury dough boy"--probably only familiar to Canadians and maybe Americans?

I thought he was dancing around until I clicked on him.

4th SEM will start tomorrow, 5 runners so far:

-mccoy
-lightseeingyak
-nilima
-jaiguruji
-snowangel

Snowangel, I never heard about the pillsbury boy, I was starting to worry though because he froze off for a while.

That would have been rather ominous for our marathon, something going awry, a warning of the dark forces summoning against our efforts.

Good he's dancing again. The dark forces will have and wait another chance.

Thanks lightning for another official citation on this powerful technique, the more, the better:
Kriya is like lifting hefty weights at the gym, concentration at the spiritual eye is like running

4th SEM:

I've started running since about 4 hours in central European time.
This morning I'm having unusual difficulties to reach an acceptable running efficiency.

Should anyone of you guys experience such difficulties that's run-of-the-mill in training and contests, all athletes have their up and downs

True enough, even though frequently I realize I don't know people or other details everyone else knows in Italy. I don't keep updated much evidently.

Thanks very much for the linguistic praise, I'll try to eliminate those slight errors as well and review some basic rules since long forgotten.
You are authorized to correct me, I'm kind of a perfectionist to that regard.

There is a funny story about linguistic misunderstanding of idioms I'll expose later.

Nilima, now I appoint you as personal fault-finder not in the geological but in the linguistical sense. And it's great to know my errors are only occasional

Doing one's best is the rationale, that's why we are all winners in these marathons. Today mine was an abominable run, it started bad and went on worse. It was a run anyway, and exercise, either physical or spiritual always pays you back.
